So after reaching JLPT N3 and getting to a comfortable level of reading the most basic children's books, I've decided I should pick up a new language. Now, I love languages and everything that comes with them so this was a hard decision. Should I study Korean because I'll reach a basic conversational level quicker thanks to Japanese? Or maybe Russian simply because I think it's cool, but will it really be useful now? So I decided to narrow it down to either a Romance language or a Germanic language considering I'm a native speaker of Spanish and English. While I'd 100% learn a more obscure Romance language such as Romanian, Italian is probably the better choice here. I am NOT dealing with those French R's and I already speak the most useful second language to know in the US (Spanish, of course). I did consider German for a second but Italian seems like it'll be the tiniest bit easier thanks to Spanish. I'm not sure if it'll be the most useful in the US but I think it's really pretty sounding and I'd like to sing along to some songs :P. If I decide to torture myself and study two at once, I'll do German to expand my Germanic language acquisition. I mean, German is literally in the name...
Anyway, turns out we're having Thanksgiving with the neighbors and I'm kind of nervous. I suck at talking to people but eating in front of people is somehow one million times worse. Their sons sort of scare me but they seem decent so I'll see... At least there will be pumpkin pie and flan. Also, I am NOT a fan of turkey or meat in general at all but it'd be rude to reject the main dish. Just as long as I don't have to help with cooking this year :3
I'd dress up as a turkey if I could, btw. I have it all pictured out, imagine me in a brown coat with real turkey feathers tied to the back of my waist. Totally genius, amirite?
Presentation of my genius idea. I know, I know. Totally amazing. Anyway, I sort of forgot what turkeys look like which is crazy considering these ugly birds are huge in my culture. #witches
Oh yeah, I made my own Google Classroom and some PowerPoint slides so I can finally teach my parents English. I know they will slack if I don't force them to so I got some notebooks and ESL textbooks for them. Tomorrow is turkey day so I know they'll use that as an excuse but after that they will not be able to escape me. I know they can do it, though :3
